Building energy performance

In 2012 the Department of Defence released the Building Energy Performance Manuel (BEPM) introducing testing of Building Sealing, section 3.5.1. This requirement details that all heated and cooled spaces which fall under the building envelope are to be tested via the ATTMA TSL2 requirements. This performance requirement is often hard to recognise in documentation, making it difficult to quantify the cost at tender stages. Aerotight has experience working on projects that have already started or are nearing completion. During these projects, we worked with tier 1 Construction companies to develop testing strategies which successfully met their construction requirement. Aerotight have also consulted on several Defence projects around Australia and have developed a project brief for construction teams either about to start or currently building to help navigate this requirement. The best time to built towards airtightness is now !!
